Translation Services

Translation services are available by arrangement. Foreign documents requiring legalisation may be appended to a notarial coversheet. Only the notarial certificate will be legalised. Photocopies of foreign documents may be legalised as true copies of the original.

Power Of Attorney

A Power of Attorney or letter of attorney is a written authorisation to legally represent or act on another’s behalf, in business, private affairs or other legal matters. The person who authorises the other to act is the principal, grantor or donor of said power, and the person authorised to act is the agent or donee.

Legalisation

Often for documents to be legally binding outside of the UK they must be ‘legalised’, which is the government confirmation that the signature, stamp and seal is that of a genuine, practicing UK Notary Public.

Step one involves the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) verifying the notary’s signature. They then attach an ‘Apostille’ to your document or to the Notarial Cover Sheet (prepared by the Notary).

Some countries require additional verification from their embassy or consulate, which is step two of the process. We can do this for you by request.

Requirements

You need to bring your original passport and proof of address (such as a utility bill dated within the last six months). This enables the Notary to confirm your identity and helps to attest that you appeared before and signed your document before the Notary. Please ask about which documents you need to bring when arranging your appointment.
